Appliance Delivery & Appliance Removals Birmingham

Need a washing machine collected, a fridge delivered or several kitchen appliances moved together? Adrian Man & Van provides appliance delivery in Birmingham and the surrounding West Midlands, with direct communication and a collection plan suited to your items.

I help homeowners, tenants, landlords and local businesses move bulky appliances between homes, shops and other agreed destinations. Whether you have bought a second-hand cooker or need a commercial fridge relocated, send me photographs, measurements and both postcodes. We can discuss access, loading and the help required before arranging your booking.

Appliance collection and delivery for everyday moves

Large appliances are awkward to move, even when the journey is short. A washing machine can be heavy, a tall fridge may be difficult to turn through a hallway, and an electric cooker needs its doors and loose parts protected. Having enough van space is only one part of the job.

My appliance removals service starts with understanding what needs moving and how we can reach it. Ground-floor access, steps, lifts, narrow entrances and parking all affect the arrangements. Please mention these details when requesting a quote so we can plan the collection properly.

You deal directly with me, Adrian, when explaining the job. That makes it easier to discuss practical details such as a seller waiting at a shop, a tenant receiving the delivery or a narrow passage beside the house. If the circumstances change after booking, please let me know promptly so we can review the arrangements.

Washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers

I can collect and deliver washing machines, condenser dryers, other tumble dryers and dishwashers, subject to suitable access and handling arrangements. This can be a single purchase from a private seller or several appliances travelling together during a move. Tell me whether the appliance is freestanding or still installed.

Fridges, freezers and electric cookers

Fridge delivery, freezer transport and electric cooker collection can be arranged locally or as part of a longer journey. Larger American-style fridges and commercial units need individual assessment. Photographs of the item, its model label and the route out of the building are especially useful.

A real local job

Moving a commercial fridge from DY5 to Smethwick

One particularly challenging appliance removal took me to a Select & Save shop in the Dudley borough, in the DY5 area. The collection was a large commercial refrigerated display unit: approximately three and a half metres long, with three doors and six shelves used for dairy products.

The destination was U Misia, the Polish grocery shop on Bearwood Road in Smethwick. This was a shop-to-shop move involving a much larger item than an ordinary household fridge. Its size made loading the most demanding part of the job.

Five people, securing straps and enough loading space

There were five of us involved in loading the unit. My Iveco Daily is a long, high-roof panel van, without a tail lift, so this was a job where the available help and loading arrangements mattered. We used straps to secure the load for the journey, and the unit fitted inside the van.

The whole job took approximately three hours, and the customer was pleased with the result. It is a good example of why I ask questions before accepting a large appliance collection. Knowing the size, access and available assistance makes a real difference when organising a demanding move.

Every commercial fridge is different. This previous job does not mean every unit can be moved using the same approach. Send the dimensions and weight information for your equipment first; some loads require specialist lifting equipment or a different vehicle.

Unwanted appliance collection in Birmingham

Replacing an appliance does not always mean the old one has reached the end of its useful life. Sometimes a working washing machine, dryer or cooker simply no longer suits the household. Where an item is suitable for reuse, I may be able to help arrange a collection.

Some accepted appliances can be donated or passed on, while others may be resold at an affordable price. I explain the arrangement before collection. I am not a charity, and I do not promise that every collected item will be donated.

A recent collection of four appliances in Quinton

A customer in Quinton contacted me about four unwanted household appliances, including a washing machine, a Beko condenser dryer and an Indesit electric cooker. They wanted the items gone without having to organise separate collections for each one.

I collected all four. Some were donated, and others were sold at a low price, giving useful appliances another home. For that customer, the agreed collection did not cost anything. It freed up space and allowed the items to be used again.

Can your appliances be collected free of charge?

Free collection depends on the items' condition, suitability for reuse, location, access and whether I can place them with another owner. Send clear photographs, model details and an honest description of any faults. I will confirm whether free collection is available or whether a collection charge would apply.

This is a service for reusable items, not rubbish disposal. I do not offer tip runs or collect appliances as waste. Broken, unsafe or unusable items are not covered by this reuse collection service.

If you also have household furniture to pass on, read about free collection of unwanted furniture in Birmingham. For a separate sofa move, see my sofa removal service. Please include every item in your enquiry so I can assess the complete collection.

How to arrange your appliance removal

1. Send photographs and collection details

WhatsApp is a convenient way to show me what needs moving. Include the collection and delivery postcodes, your preferred date, appliance measurements and any available weight information. Tell me about stairs, lifts, doorways and parking at both ends, and whether the seller or recipient has restricted collection times.

2. Agree the price and moving arrangements

The quote depends on the journey, number of items, access, size, weight and help needed. A straightforward ground-floor washing machine delivery differs from moving a large fridge through difficult access. We agree what is included before you book, and I explain any deposit required to confirm the booking.

3. Prepare the items for collection

Appliances should be empty, clean, disconnected and ready to move. Follow the manufacturer's preparation instructions, including draining washing machines and dishwashers, defrosting freezers where needed and securing removable parts. Tell me in advance if an appliance cannot be prepared, rather than leaving it as a surprise on arrival.

Measure the route as well as the appliance itself. A kitchen doorway, a tight turn beside a staircase or a gate outside can affect whether the item can be moved as planned. Photographs taken from several angles help explain these spaces. Please also mention any fragile flooring or surfaces along the route.

4. Confirm the handover at the destination

Make sure someone can receive the delivery and that the agreed access route is clear. Transport does not include plumbing, gas work or electrical installation. Arrange an appropriately qualified professional for any required disconnection or reconnection, and follow the manufacturer's guidance before switching appliances back on.

Local appliance delivery across Birmingham and nearby areas

Based in Halesowen, I take enquiries from Birmingham, Quinton, Harborne, Selly Oak, Bearwood, Smethwick, Oldbury, Dudley, Rowley Regis, West Bromwich and surrounding areas. The collection address and delivery address do not have to be in the same town.

For example, you might need a cooker collected from a private seller and delivered to your home, or several appliances moved between rental properties. These are examples of the enquiries you can send me. Availability and the final arrangements are confirmed for each booking.

For broader local transport, explore man and van in Halesowen or my man with a van Birmingham service. If your timing is urgent, ask about same-day man and van availability; short-notice bookings depend on the schedule and the job requirements.

Long-distance appliance delivery and combined loads

Need an appliance transported beyond the West Midlands? Send both postcodes for a long-distance quote. A single item may be worth moving with other belongings, particularly when you are relocating or collecting several purchases. We can discuss the full load before deciding on the arrangements.

Useful route pages include Birmingham to London removals, Birmingham to Manchester transport and Birmingham to Exeter removals. For appliances travelling alongside beds, tables or wardrobes, see furniture removals in Birmingham. Mention the whole load so the quote reflects the actual work.

Appliance delivery questions

Can you collect an appliance bought online?

Yes, subject to the item's size, access and availability. Confirm the purchase with the seller first, then send the listing photographs and collection details. The seller should know when collection is arranged and have the appliance disconnected and ready.

For a used appliance, ask the seller about its working condition, measurements and any missing parts before committing to the purchase. The transport booking covers moving the agreed item; it is not an inspection or a guarantee of how the appliance performs. Keeping the seller's details and model information can also help you locate its instructions afterwards.

Do I need to help with lifting?

Tell me what assistance is available, but do not assume that you must lift a heavy appliance yourself. We need to agree suitable help for the item and access. Very heavy commercial equipment may require a specialist service.

Is every unwanted appliance collection free?

No. Free collection is assessed individually for reusable items. Condition, demand, distance and access matter. Please wait for confirmation before assuming there is no charge; I will explain the agreed price or free collection arrangement beforehand.

Can furniture and appliances go together?

Yes, where the complete load is suitable for the van and can be handled as agreed. Send photographs of everything, including sofas and other bulky furniture, so space and handling requirements can be considered together.
