Flat Removals Birmingham

Moving from a flat with stairs, a shared entrance or no lift? Adrian Man & Van helps with studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom flat removals across Birmingham, Halesowen and the West Midlands.

From a student’s boxes and bags to a family flat with furniture and appliances, we agree the moving help around your belongings and the access at both addresses.

For a useful quote, send both postcodes, floor levels, lift details and photos of what needs moving.

A flat move needs more than a van

A short drive can still involve a lot of carrying. Stairs, tight landings, communal corridors and the distance from the entrance to the van all affect a flat removal. That is why we ask about access as well as the number of rooms.

A real two-bedroom flat move from the second floor

One move that shows what a flat removal can involve started on Old Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, B60 1DF. The customer was moving from a two-bedroom flat on the second floor, with no lift, to Wythall Road, Halesowen, B63 4QR.

What we moved

  • A sofa.
  • An under-counter fridge.
  • A washing machine.
  • 20 boxes.
  • A table and four chairs.
  • Two wardrobes.
  • Three chests of drawers.
  • Approximately 30 bags.
  • A bicycle.
  • Children’s belongings and toys.

Adrian + one moving helper

I completed this move with one of my moving helpers. It was a full household move, with bulky furniture as well as all the smaller things that make up a family home.

We used a trolley and a four-wheel furniture dolly as part of the handling equipment. The move went smoothly and was completed without problems.

This is why an accurate item list matters. “A two-bedroom flat” might mean a few pieces of furniture, or it might include appliances, several storage units and around 50 boxes and bags before the bicycle and children’s things are counted.

Need more help? For suitable larger or more demanding jobs, Adrian can arrange two helpers, making a three-person team. The number of movers is agreed in advance, depending on access, item size and availability.

Flat removals with stairs and no lift

A second-floor flat without a lift needs a different plan from a ground-floor apartment with parking at the door. Let us know the floor at collection and delivery, how many flights of stairs there are, and whether any landings or doors are particularly narrow.

Stairs & doorways

Share photos of the route out of the flat, especially for sofas, wardrobes and appliances. We assess the carrying requirements before confirming the move.

Lift & building access

If your building has a lift, check whether it is available for moving furniture and whether reception needs to reserve a time. Tell us about entrance codes and loading rules.

Parking & carrying distance

Let us know where a van can legally stop and how far that is from your entrance. A long corridor or distant loading bay can add handling time.

A four-wheel furniture dolly helps move suitable loads over level surfaces. Stair carrying is assessed separately; we agree the appropriate help for the access rather than assuming every item will fit or can be carried by one person.

Student flat removals in Birmingham city centre

Adrian has helped many students move in and around Birmingham city centre, including the Aston area and near the city-centre ODEON. Whether you are leaving halls, moving into a shared flat or taking your belongings home at the end of term, send the building name and your moving date along with the item list.

Student moves can be just bags, boxes and a bicycle, or a larger move with furniture. We can discuss local transfers and longer-distance moves, with collection times arranged around access and key handovers.

Moving at Paradise View

Paradise View on Paradise Street is one of the city-centre apartment buildings Adrian knows through repeat jobs. “I have completed around seven or eight moves at Paradise View,” he says.

The development offers rental apartments, including studios and larger flats. If you are moving there, tell us your apartment’s floor, the lift arrangements and the agreed loading access for your date.

Furniture, appliances, boxes and bags

For a flat move, start with the largest items: sofas, beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers, tables and appliances. Then add boxes, bags, bicycles and children’s belongings. Photos or a short video can help show the overall volume.

Tell us whether furniture is already dismantled. Do not assume dismantling, appliance disconnection or reconnection is included: discuss any additional requirements before booking. Appliances should be emptied, disconnected and prepared for transport.

Leaving reusable furniture behind?

Selected furniture and working appliances in suitable condition may qualify for free collection for reuse, subject to prior agreement. Send photos so Adrian can assess the items. This is separate from your paid flat removal.

No rubbish removal or tip runs.

Local flat moves and long-distance relocations

Get a clear quote for your flat removal

The price depends on the amount to move, the route, access, carrying distance and the number of movers required. A no-lift move with heavy furniture needs a different quote from a few student bags collected at ground level.

  1. Send both postcodes and the building names, where relevant.
  2. Give the floor levels and lift details at collection and delivery.
  3. Share your item list and photos, including heavy or awkward pieces.
  4. Tell us your preferred date, key handover times and parking arrangements.
  5. Confirm the agreed booking with a deposit. The team and moving arrangements are agreed before moving day.

Flat removal questions

Can you move a second-floor flat with no lift?

Yes, suitable no-lift moves can be arranged after we assess the belongings and access. Tell us about the stairs at both addresses so we can agree the right number of movers.

Can I book two or three movers?

Yes, by arrangement and subject to availability. Adrian can work with one helper for a two-person team or two helpers for a three-person team when the job requires it.

Do you move students from halls and private flats?

Yes. We help students with boxes, bags, bicycles and suitable furniture, including moves between halls, private flats, shared houses and home addresses.

Have you moved people at Paradise View?

Yes. Adrian has completed around seven or eight moves at Paradise View on Paradise Street. Please confirm the current access and loading arrangements for your own booking.

Can you move my washing machine and fridge?

We can assess suitable household appliances as part of the move. Send photos and dimensions, explain the access, and have them empty, disconnected and ready to transport.

Can you give a price just from the number of bedrooms?

The room count is a useful starting point, but it does not show the volume or access. We also need the item list, postcodes, floor levels and lift details to give a useful quote.

Are same-day flat removals available?

Sometimes, depending on availability and the size of the move. Call Adrian to check the route, access and moving help before relying on a same-day booking.
