Terms and Conditions – Adrian Man and Van Birmingham
Welcome to Adrian Man and Van Birmingham. By booking our services via amanandvanbirmingham.co.uk, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Services Provided
We offer man and van services across Birmingham, West Midlands and UK-wide, including:
- House removals
- Student moves
- Furniture transport
- Emergency / same-day moves
2. Work Not Included in the Service
Unless agreed in advance, we do NOT:
- Dismantle or assemble furniture (including flat-pack items)
- Disconnect or reconnect appliances (washing machines, cookers, etc.)
- Move items from unsafe lofts or spaces
- Handle garden structures (sheds, trampolines, hot tubs, etc.)
- Remove flooring, curtains, or fixtures
A qualified professional should be arranged separately for these services.
3. Packing Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for properly packing all items before the move.
We strongly recommend:
- Using boxes or strong bags (Amazon-style bags preferred)
- Keeping items organised and ready for loading
If items are:
- Not packed
- Scattered around the property
- Difficult to access
Additional time and labour will be required, and extra charges may apply.
We can provide packing bags or assistance for an additional fee, subject to availability.
4. Vehicle & Equipment
We operate:
- A large 7-metre Iveco Daily van (35S15)
- A 9-seater minibus (Mercedes Vito)
Please note:
- Our van does NOT have a tail lift
- Heavy or bulky items may require additional manpower
We can provide extra helpers (up to 2 additional movers) at extra cost.
5. Access & Parking
Quotes are based on:
- Parking within 10 metres of the property entrance
If:
- Parking is further away
- No parking is available
- Parking fees apply
Additional charges may be added.
Customers are responsible for arranging permits if required.
6. Insurance
We hold:
- Hire & Reward Insurance
- Goods in Transit Insurance (up to £10,000)
- Public Liability Insurance (up to £2,000,000)
Important:
- A £250 excess applies to any claim
- Damage must be reported immediately on completion
We are NOT liable for:
- Items packed by the customer (unless visibly damaged externally)
- Damage reported after we leave the job
7. Restricted & Excluded Items
We do NOT transport:
- Money, jewellery, or valuables
- Hazardous or flammable items
- Perishable goods or frozen food
- Animals or pets
- Tobacco, alcohol, or high-value collections
Any undeclared prohibited items are transported at your own risk.
8. Customer Responsibilities
You must:
- Ensure all items are ready for collection
- Provide safe and clear access
- Inform us of stairs, long walking distances, or special requirements
- Ensure everything is removed before we leave
Failure to do so may result in additional charges.
9. Quotes & Pricing
All quotes are based on:
- Estimated time
- Information provided by the customer
Final price may change if:
- More items are added
- Access is more difficult than described
- Extra time or labour is required
10. Cancellations
- More than 7 days notice → No charge
- Less than 7 days → 50% charge
- Same day cancellation → 100% charge
11. Liability
We reserve the right to refuse any job that poses:
- Health and safety risks
- Risk of damage to property or goods
If you insist on proceeding against advice: You accept full responsibility and waive any claims.
